Real Live Turtles!!!!

On Friday before we went to Oklahoma, Uncle Rooster and Aunt Courtney came to visit Tate and Emmy. They brought two little surprises...TURTLES!!!! They were leery at first, but warmed up fast. We were all so impressed that Emmy was holding the small turtle none of us noticed Tate had grabbed the large turtle and started shaking it!! :) Boys will be boys!! Emmy getting brave with the turtles.

Releasing them into the wild.

Uncle Rooster and Emmy with the smaller turtle.

This was after Tate grabbed Emmy to stop her from touching the turtles. He was very protective of her.

Aunt Courtney showing Emmy how to hold the turtle.

Emmy was very excited about the turtles.

What is that?

Aunt Courtney was showing the kids the turtles belly.

Thank you to Uncle Rooster and Aunt Courtney!

The kids loved the turtles and we had a great time with you guys!

Cheerio Tea Party

The other night, the kids decided to get creative with their Cheerios. Emmy got this tea set for Christmas and they love to take it by the fron tdoor and play with it. This time they wanted to have real food at the party. At least they did not ask for milk too!! :)

Double Trouble!

Tate trying to get just the right amount of Cheerios on the spoon.

Emmy looks like she knows she has made a mess.

I'll trade you a Cheerio for a Cheerio!

Daddy's Boots...

This morning, Tate woke up at 5 am!!!! So, we had plenty accomplished this morning before 8am (when we usually get up). Mommy had 2 cups of coffee and Tate had played with all his toys at leat twice before Emmy and Daddy got up. Tate went into Brad's closet this morning and drug out his boots. He insisted on putting them on.

Entertaining Each Other

Last night when I was in the kitchen making dinner the kids were in the living room playing. I heard some giggling from around the recliner and this is what I found when I went to check on them. They had both climbed up in the recliner with their legos and were rocking the chair together as fast as they could. Emmy has the sticker from the baked potato on her shirt. She loves stickers of any kind! :)

This is when Tate was getting irritated with her for taking his legos...although this picture does not show he had actually taken these away from her about 30 seconds earlier!

Mommy's Old Rocking Horse

This weekend Papaw got my old spring rocking horse down out of the attic for the kids to try out. They were so excited to try out the "new" toy! I also added a picture of it from the Christmas morning I got it when I was 3.
Hold on Sissy...this is a wild ride!

Emmy insisted on "pushing" the horse while Tate was riding.

"Yeee-Haw!!!"

And you don't even have to put quarters in it!!! :)

Mom and Dad said I rode until I fell asleep!!! Don't you love the red boots?!!!!!

Memorial Day...

On Memorial Day we spent lots of time together as a family. We went to breakfast with Mimi, Papaw and Mamaw, did a little shopping and went to the church for a Sunday School party. Emmy all dressed in Red, White and Blue...

Tate having fun with all the toys at the party.

On Sunday, we went over to Mimi and Papaw's house for lunch. Boots and Banty were able to join us and we had a great time. Mamaw, Auntie M , Uncle B and Brody were also there. Although the kids got NO NAP that day, we had a great time visiting and watching the kids play. Thank you to Mimi and Papaw for the great lunch and for having all of us over!

Buon Giorno, Boots and Banty!!!

Boots and Banty made it back from their two week trip to Italy and had a great time! They brought back lots of goodies for us and the kids. Tate LOVED the puzzles they brought and Emmy has slept with her new doll (bambola in Italian) every night. We enjoyed seeing Boots and Banty for a few days. We also had Aunt Julie (Honey) over for dinner. She was so excited because the kids just blurted out her name and Coach's name at dinner. :) Emmy and Banty catching up a little reading
