The proud parents...

These two are just constant entertainment! This afternoon, Tate and Emmy decided this baby doll was Baby Lyla. They asked me to show them how to change her diaper and clothes. After that, Tate fed her a bottle and covered her up with a blanket. He has been carrying her around for the past hour. Emmy then decided it was time for a family portrait. She said she was the Mommy and Tate was the Daddy. They are now back in the playroom shopping with Lyla. He has her in the shopping cart and is looking for milk. :) The proud parents!

Going to Walmart with Lyla!

I just hope they are this into the real Lyla!

The Dancing Princess...

Well, it is week 5 of dance class and Emmy has finally gotten into it! Just one class left this summer! :) Mimi had bought her a new dance bag to keep her shoes in and she was very excited to pack it with her stuff and carry it into class. She walked in all by herself yesterday and did all the things the teacher asked them to do. She even hopped across the floor by herself. Yea, Emmy! She was so proud of herself, she actually told me she needed ice cream after class (it was only 10am, so we settled for pancakes instead!). Getting her tap shoes on.

Having so much fun!

Action shot...she was actually dancing!

Following directions

At the end of class they make a "train" and then get a stamp. Emmy is the short one in the middle. She is actually the 2nd oldest one in the class, but also one of the shortest. :)

Aunt Courtney and Rooster's House...

Last weekend, Brad took the kids to visit Aunt Courtney and Uncle Rooster's house while I had a weekend with some girls I went to high school with. They had been so excited about it all week. They got to fish and as Emmy put it, "Feed those longhorns some dinner!" They had a great time. Thank you to Rooster and Courtney for opening your house to them. :)

Just hanging out with Courtney

Brad said Tate worked on this one spot in the yard for a long time.

Silly bath time fun

We had a great girls weekend. I am so blessed to have so many "life-long" friends. I had a great time with you girls and I cannot wait until next year!

Miss Lyla (30 Weeks)

My sweet friend Melissa let us come in today for a 4D sonogram of Miss Lyla. Here are some of the pics she captured. There are more, but I cannot get one of the discs to work plus I will try to upload some videos later.

Here is a face pic with her head against the placenta. You can also see her knee to the left.

Thank you so much Melissa! :)

Our week...

Not much new here this week. Just hanging out and trying to stay cool! :) Tate and Emmy are really able to entertain each other well. They disappear into the playroom for a long time and just play together. I love listening to them interact with each other, sometimes I just hear them laughing for no reason at all. They are beginning to grasp the concept there will be another little one at our house in about 2 months. Emmy and Tate will bend over to kiss my belly and say, "I love Lyla!" I just hope this enthusiasm keeps up come September. :) Tate had an ENT appointment yesterday and he has lost his left tube, after 2 years, so he is going back in 3 weeks for a hearing test to determine weather or not we will have to go back and put tubes in and take out the adenoids. I pray we will not have to do this again, but if it is affecting his hearing, I am all for it. We have had a great experience with ear tubes, so far. He has discovered a new love of hot dogs. He wants them in the bun with mustard, but then he will just eat the hot dog out of the bun with the mustard. He just uses the bun as a holder and wants a refill on the hot dog and mustard when he is really hungry. You can imagine how much mustard ends up on his face! I tried to get a picture of it, but the battery was dead in the camera. He has even had hot dogs for breakfast a few times this week. Too funny!

Emmy is also doing well, she has now taken 3 dance classes and is up to walking in by herself and standing on her color. Mimi said she did hop across the floor last week. Hey, it is something, right? She also went to the ENT and her tubes are doing so well they are not coming out on their own, so come December, we will have them removed. She is still quite the mother to Tate and any other child she can get away with telling what to do. I know she will be a great big sister. :) Oh, and we are still just wearing dresses and nightgowns...not kidding, the kid does not have a single pair of shorts, pants, or pajamas in her room. I sure hope Lyla will like dresses when she gets to this size!
******************************************************
A favorite game the kids have started in the evenings with Brad is finding the GIANT! They have definitely watched too much Mickey Mouse Clubhouse! They will go hide and wait for Brad, the Giant, to come and find them. Here are some pictures I got of them playing...

He found me!

Look, Tate, here he is...

Watching for the giant!

As far as Lyla and I, we are doing well...growing by the minute and trying to stay cool. Poor Brad is just about freezing all the time. :) We will be 30 weeks tomorrow, so we have started to go to the doctor every 2 weeks. All the test have come back normal, but I have tested to be anemic, so I am popping the iron pills. YUCK! We are still all set for September 19th at noon. :) Just 9 weeks!

Tate and Emmy's Party...

Tate and Emmy had a great 3rd Birthday Party. Thank you to everyone who was able to make it and for those of you who were not there, we missed seeing you!
A special thanks to Mimi and Papaw for hosting the party at their house. I am not sure what we would have done without the pool to cool off in! :)
This year, the kids decided on a Mickey and Minnie Mouse party. We had yummy cake and ice cream sundaes, plus a fun bounce house and of course the pool. The cakes...

Am I Three yet?

On Monday, Brad and I took the kids to CiCi's pizza for dinner. We had a great time. The kids were so excited about their birthday.

Tate had asked me last week to let him know when he was three. :) Enjoying some pizza

After dinner, we went to Target for the kids to use some of their birthday money and gift cards. Tyler had given the kids some money and they picked out these microphones and a keyboard that plays music. Here they are putting on a show when we got home. Thanks, Tyler!

Here are some videos of the kids singing...

The 4th of July...

For the 4th, we went over to Uncle Rick's house to swim and eat lunch and then we went over to Mimi and Papaw's for dinner. The kids had a great time swimming and I think all the adults had a nice time relaxing. Thank you to Uncle Rick, Mimi and Papaw for all the great food and fun! Hanging out at Mimi and Papaw's house

A little waterfall fun

Boots and Banty brought Tyler with them. He has been studing art with Boots this week. Tate and Emmy absolutely loved having him around. In fact, when they left on Saturday night, Tate said, "Where did my Tyler go?"

Here are the girls in the dresses Aunt Jo made for them for the 4th. They were too cute! Thank you Aunt Jo!!!
