As We Wait...

As we wait the arrival of Lyla, I can't help but wonder what she will look like and what her personality will be. I know she will complete our family and I am so excited to finally meet her and get to know her. She is truly a miracle, considering we were once told we would probably never have children and now here we are about to have #3! God is good!

As I was looking back at some baby pictures of Tate and Emmy, it got me thinking about Lyla and if she will look like Tate, Emmy or something totally different. I guess I will just have to wait and see this little one, but here are some flashback pics of Tate and Emmy from when they were about 2 weeks old... So Sweet!

I still remember them laying in the pack-n-play side by side.

Fun Weekend...

We had a nice weekend. On Friday night, we went on "date nights" with the kids. Brad and Emmy went to Cici's Pizza and Tate and I went to Chick Fil A. We had a great time spending some one on one time with the kids. On Saturday, Brad took Tate to the PGA Golf store and let him hit some balls. Yesterday, Mimi and Papaw had us over for some yummy chicken fried steak and Chocolate pie for Brad's birthday. Our friends Philip and Debbie came over with Ari and Unc B and Brody got to come over and swim. We are pretty much laying low waiting for Miss Lyla to make her debute. Everything was great at the doctor last week - They think she will weight around 8 lbs. by September 19th. I will go back this Friday for another check-up. Daddy was teaching them the "ready" stance.

Tate will be going in on Wendesday morning to get his second set of tubes put in and his adnoids taken out. Say a little prayer everything goes smoothly and it helps with all the ear problems he has been having.

I took them out to clean the truck today and they thought it was so fun to sit and buckle them in the living room. I took this with our new camera...I am still just testing it out. :)

This morning, I took the kids to Mimi and Papaw's house for a swim. We had a great time just relaxing and it gave Daddy some quiet time to get some work done. :) Tate in Papaw's hat eating some lunch.

Taking it too far????

Ok, we think he may be taking this little too far! He found this baby carrier of Emmy's and decided it was a great idea to strap the baby doll Lyla to him. This was not a short-lived thing. He wore it for several hours last night and woke up this morning and wanted it back on. :) He told me. "Baby Lyla is in my tummy. She wanted out but I told her she could not get out!"

A guy still has to make time to play with horses and firetrucks, even when on baby duty.

I finally got a picture of him sleeping with her. He has done this for almost a week now. Notice how she is all covered up and on a pillow? He does that all himself. :) I am going to have a hard time explaining to him that the real Lyla will not be able to do this.

A funny Emmy story...

This conversation happened yesterday at Nana's house...

Emmy: "Tate, I will use the big potty and you can use the little one"

Tate: "OK"

Nana: "Tate make sure you point it down so you do not get tee-tee on the floor"

Tate: "OK, Nana"

Emmy: "Do I need to point mine down too?

Nana: "No, Emmy you do not have to."

Emmy: After a long pause..."I am going to have to get one of those!"

I am not sure where she thinks you buy one of those! :) FUNNY!
