Are you ready cowboy?

We have added a new activity to our nighttime routine...RODEO!!! This started a few weeks ago when the kids stayed with Boots and Banty. Tate loves to be the star of the rodeo...He will get on one of his stick horses (Pancho or Pop-Top), get his rope, and most of the time Daddy is the calf. He will wait for us to announce his name at the rodeo and we will say, ARE YOU READY COWBOY??????? He will yell....YES, I AM!!! And off he goes to rope his calf... Ready to rope

Brad is teaching him how to throw the rope

What a good sport, Daddy!

I think Brad has been whacked on the head with the rope many, many times!

Practicing

He will fall down and say, "That horse bucked me off...I better hold on to that rope!"

GOT HIM!!!!

Vacation Bible School...

Last week, the kids got to spend the mornings at VBS at our church. Despite the looks on their faces in these pictures, they had a great time. These were taken all on the first day, so they were a little unsure. :) They learned lots of new songs and got to do some neat crafts. Tate and Emmy with their class and teachers

There is something to be said for looking pretty...

...and that is about all there is to say about Emmy's first dance class. She was so excited to get her outfit and shoes on. She carefully packed her bag with her shoes and lovie, and off we were to her first dance class. She got to meet all of her new friends in class and then they were escorted into the dance room. She was not much on going in by herself, so I went in and sat in the corner. She was assigned to a pink square on the floor and she stood there... the entire 30 minute class. Maybe next week she will get a little movement in. :) Getting all her stuff ready to go.

Very excited!

Our little ballerina

Waiting to go into class

This was her standing on her square. :)

Hopefully she will warm up to it more in the next 5 weeks!

To Our Daddy...

What Makes A Dad...

God took the strength of a mountain,
The majesty of a tree,
The warmth of a summer sun,
The calm of a quiet sea,
The generous soul of nature,
The comforting arm of night,
The wisdom of ages,
The power of the eagle's flight,
They joy of a morning spring,
The faith of a mustard seed,
The patience of eternity,
The depth of a family need,
Then God combined these qualities,
When there was nothing more to add,
He knew His masterpiece was complete,
And so,
He called it ... Dad

~Author Unknown- Happy Father's Day, Daddy!

Thank you for all you do for us, we love you with all our hearts!

Lyla Update...

Yesterday we went for our 25 week appointment. Lyla is measuring right on time and everything is going great with the pregnancy. We got to sneak a peek at her. She was sucking her lips like Emmy does before she sleeps and she had her feet above her head! :)
She approximately 1 lb. 13 oz. We will get another sono at 30 weeks. Lyla (24 weeks 5 days)
Here are Tate and Emmy's sonogram pics from the same week...who do you think Lyla looks more like? If you are like me, I have a hard time seeing much of anything in a sono!!!

Emmy (24 weeks 2 days)

Tate (24 weeks 2 days)

We have scheduled a c-section for September 19th...only about 14 weeks to go! YIKES! Here is a belly pic for all you out there that have been wanting one...(Holley and Jenny!!!!) It is a little fuzzy because I had to use the timer.

The Fair and Rodeo...

This weekend, we went to Clifton for the fair and rodeo.
The kids had a great time! Here are some pictures from Saturday... The kids had a little breakfast in bed before we got dressed to leave.

Tate and Daddy

We went to the fairgrounds to see all the animals in the morning.

We saw sheep, pigs, goats, chickens, horses, and cows.

Emmy was all dressed for the fair!

We went home for a while for naps and to play.

Then we went to the rodeo to see all the fun activities

We had some yummy sno-cones at the rodeo...Emmy's was obviously orange!

Tate LOVED watching the horses and cows.

Emmy was looking forward to the carnival!

Off to the carnival, Boots!

Thank goodness for Mattie, they would not let me help on any of the rides. :)

Emmy and her cotton candy

We had mentioned on Friday driving into town that she would be able to get cotton candy and she said, "I LOVE cotton candy!"

They got to ride the "boats"

And slide down the slide.

Hanging out at Mimi and Papaw's House

Last weekend, the kids stayed at Mimi and Papaw's while Brad and I went to a party for his work. The kids got lots of outside/pool time.
Thank you, Mimi and Papaw for showing them a good time! Emmy decided she needed a private pool just for her.
All relaxed!
Eating some watermelon...yummy!
Papaw and Tate in the pool
They call this "the chair"
More watermelon

Tate serving tea...looks like Emmy talked him into this one!
Enjoying her tea party

Should I just jump in?
Why, yes I should!

"That will be so delicious!"

"Oh, Mommy, that will be SO delicious!"

This is what Emmy told me the other day at the store when we talked about buying some cereal. I was having to distract them because we had gone to Costco to pick up a few things and there was a lady there giving out "samples" of ice cream with chocolate syrup on top. Well, the kids thought that was great, considering it was 10 am and they were getting ice cream. The only bad part was, it was just a sample...about 2 bites. Tate thought this was a little unfair, to say the least! He was not feeling that great anyway and then the lady only gave him a little ice cream...to put it nicely...he was not a happy shopper and if you were in Costco off 75 on Friday, that was my son making all that noise!

So, when Boots heard this story he told him they would go get some ice cream when he was in town and he could have as much as he wanted. So, last night we had some ice cream out on the patio complete with pink and green cones and Mickey Mouse sprinkles. We all got sticky and the kids got hosed off before their bath. What fun summertime memories! Yummy!

This is cold on my tongue!

Making a mess!

Silly Emmy!
