Here is just a glimpse of the silliness during our attempt at Christmas card pictures…
Really?????

Wow! What a busy month. I can’t believe it is already November. We had a fun October…
I got to travel to Austin to see Gina get married.
These two went on their first field trip…
to the public library.
We went to Mr. Red’s Cowboy Gathering…
Where this little guy got brave and…
did the mutton bustin’!
While this little cowgirl cheered him on from the bleachers.
Mommy and Daddy went on a little vacation to Cancun…
with some really fun friends. :)
We went on another field trip with Tate and Emmy’s school…
to the Pumpkin Patch.
Oh, and these two boys got to see the Rangers play in the World Series! :)
What a fun month…now for November…

Lyla has been waiting years to finally start her dance class, just like Sissy! She is taking with some of our friends little girls. All these girls have older siblings Tate and Emmy’s age. It is fun to do something with just the “littles”.
She was so excited to get all dressed up and get her dance bag…she actually put her milk in the bag along with her lovie.
She walked in and found a number, just like she has watched Emmy do for years.
Playing in the hoopty hoops.

This little one waited and waited for her Minnie Party with a Minnie cake :)
Minnie stuff is harder to find than Mickey stuff, but we made it work. :)
Getting ready to sing Happy Birthday
She LOVED having all the attention :)
In fact, we sang twice and blew the candles out twice!!
And she would have done it a third time too…
Bryce and Lyla
(These two are a week apart in age and have been in Sunday School together since birth. And they both have twin older siblings)
She loved opening the presents. After each one she would find the person who gave it to her and stop to say thank you and give them a huge hug. Sweet girl!
Opening more Minnie stuff…her bed looks like a
Minnie Mouse Groupie lives there. :)

Happy Birthday to our Lyla-Bug! I cannot believe you are already two. In some ways it seems like you were just born and in others I can’t remember what life was like without you. You light up our lives with your sweet smile and sense of humor.
Today we celebrate you!
We thank God for you everyday! We love you – Lyla Mary!

Inside the front cover of the book You Can Teach Hitting, by Dusty Baker, there appears this poem about a Little Leaguer...
He pulls on a helmet, picks up the bat,
and walks to the plate, "gotta hit and that's that."
The crowd starts to yell, the game's on the line,
last inning, two outs, the score's nine to nine.
Dad yells, "Go get it," Mom wrings her hands,
coach hollers, "hit it," but alone there he stands.
Heros are made in seconds such as this,
but he's just a little boy, what if he should miss?
Years after this game's ended and he's little no more,
will he remember the outcome or even the score?
No he'll have forgotten if he was out, hit, or a run,
he'll only look back on his friends and the fun.
So cheer this boy on, alone with his fate;
help him remember with fondness this stand at the plate.
Spend your time wisely and help in his quest
to be a hitter with confidence and always his best.
And when the game's over, this boy can stand tall,
for you've helped him prepare to give it his all!
